NLCD 2001 is a Landsat-based land cover database with several independent data layers, which allow users a wide variety of potential applications. NLCD 2001 products include 21 classes of Land Cover, Percent Tree Canopy and Percent Urban Imperviousness at 30m cell resolution.
As of 2008, products are available for the conterminous United States. Data for any part of the country can be accessed at http://www.mrlc.gov/nlcd.php or at the USGS Seamless Server site, http://seamless.usgs.gov. The Sonoma County file attached to this metadata record was extracted and downloaded using USGS Seamless Server.
